Chile Ancho possesses a sweet and chocolatey, with a flavor also slightly reminiscent of raisins, its heat is mild to medium-hot when whole, and lesser when ground.

Use them crushed or in the ground form to make enchilada salsa, marinades, meat rubs, tomato sauces, and chilis.
